Welcome

The Mark Harris Photography Blog is a cyberspace source where I keep public thoughts and notes about flash photography lighting lessons that I am learning.

I've been reading and learning from David Hobby's blog site, Strobist.com, among others, and from the late Dean Collins's terrific DVD series, "The Best of Dean Collins on Lighting."

Since I have most of the equipment required, I figured it was time to try something besides available light nature and landscape photography. I no longer have the time nor the desire to wait hours, or in some cases, days for the perfect light needed to do professional work with that subject matter. For those of you who do have that patience, you have my utmost respect.

What I'd really like to do is corporate annual report-type images. To do these types of pictures well, you'd better damn well know something about lighting.

Going forward, I'll share the images, along with the lighting diagrams that I use to outline the lighting designs I come up with to produce the images.

Thanks.

Mark Harris
